I started playing in bands when I was 13, but back then few of us were any good on our instruments.
The two of us were a bunch of teenagers that liked to listen to rock songs & had dreams of someday hitting the road & playing shows for thoUSAnds of people.
By the time I was in my minute band in high school, I had finally finished a few years of lessons & was getting quite proficient at my instrument. This is a far cry from the beginning nights of myself and others first picking up the guitar & barely making reasonable sounds, let alone playing real songs. After I reached this level of comprehension, I created a new band with a group of friends from the songs department at our high school. The two of us stayed in that band for a number of years since the two of us all stayed in our lake home village after graduating from high school. It was in that band when I played the most number of gigs in a single year, & I haven’t topped it since. I suppose I played something like many gigs a week without a single split from early January until late January that same year. Back while the two of us were in those nights a lot of the locales were dive bars or entirely low-key event centers with small sitting or seating capacities. Many of the locales the two of us played in lacked real Heating & Air Conditioning beyond fans or mere space gas furnaces if it was Winter & the weather outside was considerably cold. But the lack of air conditioning was awful when the locales would get extremely sizzling from the combined body heat of all the customers & guests.
