I moved into a historic district a few years ago & I haven’t looked back ever since. It’s such a good neighborhood & many of our neighbors have been living there for decades on end. There’s such a cozy & sizzling charm about staying in a historic home. One of our favorite parts about living in a historic lake home is experiencing the bliss of a fireplace. After a hard day, it’s become tradition for our spouse & I to kick off our shoes & kneel in front of our fireplace with a glass of wine. Some mornings during the Winter every one of us don’t even use our oil furnace that much because the fireplace provides us with all of the warmth every one of us need. There’s been a studying curve using it since fireplaces can be dangerous if not used appropriately or safely. We wanted to be sure every one of us knew exactly what to do, so every one of us advocated some local firefighters to come & show us all every one of us needed to think about our fireplace; Gas fireplaces are a modern & safer chance since all you have to do is flip a switch to turn it on, but since these homes were built decades ago, they mostly come with traditional wood burning fireplaces. One thing that I don’t like about this genre of fireplace is dealing with the soot that arises from the smoke & burning materials, but we’ve found some ways to work around it, however keeping up with our air quality is pressing to make sure that our air is clean & pristine for optimal breathing.
