I was honestly annoyed in the beginning when I went to an HVAC trade school.
It wasn’t because they weren’t teaching good information, it was that their HVAC in the classroom was total crap.
I thought that a school teaching about how to repair heating and cooling systems would at least have a decent HVAC system with good air quality. This place had dust floating in the air and I was always hacking up like crazy when I was there. I even started bringing a portable UV air purifier with me just so I would have better air quality in my working space in the classroom. The professor ended up apologizing because their budget was too lacking to afford a fix to the HVAC system as it was struggling. Well, I suggested that we all team together to fix the HVAC as a great project to learn how to be great HVAC professionals. They thought it was actually a good idea and so we got at it. It was not a bad experience at all and we were able to get to the root of the issue with the HVAC system with the assistance of the professor who was a retired HVAC professional. He thanked me for suggesting this idea because it was one of the best teaching experiences he had in the school. Everybody that year was able to achieve their HVAC certification because they learned so much and passed the certification test with flying colors. Everybody also wanted to keep in touch with me because I made it a grand experience with all my comments and feedback. I just want to be the best I can be in the HVAC industry.
