If something is working it does not need fixing. I have lived by this principle for so long but I always knew it would one day land me in trouble. I had neglected the multi split air conditioning system in my home simply because it was working. I could not even recall the last time I had consulted anything with the indoor comfort business. All my friends either had a smart or wifi thermostat while I still had my analogue one. I did not see the point in replacing something that was still working. I had no idea what other cooling products existed or any new development in the cooling industry. I was not sure when was the last time I saw a cooling workman or called the local business. One day I passed by my heat pump and I could tell it had a burning smell. I panicked because I had read that such a smell was dangerous. After all, it meant that there were serious issues that could potentially cause or put the house at risk of an electrical fire. I immediately called the local service provider to seek assistance. The cooling expert came to my house to inspect and fix the heat pump installation. After he had checked the a/c set up he told me that it had damaged wiring and the motor was failing. The technician told me the cost of the repairs the cooling system needed and I nearly fell off my seat. The aftermath of my negligence had finally caught up with me and even learning more about air conditioning at this point was not going to save me. If only I had followed the HVAC service plan that I was offered all this could have been avoided.
