Mold and mildew causing a bad smell

As much as I love living in a beautiful tropical environment, it definitely comes with its drawbacks. People who live in drier environments wouldn’t understand the issues that come with living in a place with high humidity. Although the sights around here are beautiful, the humidity and heat can make it unbearable. It is at least 70% in humidity when you go outside, and then when you add the heat it becomes borderline unbearable. You might think there is a simple solution to that problem, just go inside, problem solved. Not necessarily, because sometimes, the humidity is so high it can start causing problems indoors as well. Sometime back, I noticed my home had a slight musty smell in it. It was all over, and I couldn’t pinpoint where it was coming from. I noticed the smell was being carried all throughout the house, so I had my air conditioning shut off to stop it. I had a hunch of what the issue might be, so I called an A/C technician. The A/C professional looked inside my ductwork, and told me I badly needed duct cleaning. Apparently it was mold and mildew galore in there, and that was causing the bad smell as well as posing a health risk. The A/C worker did a fantastic job of cleaning it out and once everything was cleared out, the smell disappeared. I could also breathe easier, which was nice. The mold and mildew was caused by high humidity. So while living in tropical environments can be nice, they definitely have their drawbacks.
