I was a little bit worried when moving my family to a new place we had never been to before.
I had a promotion at work, but it was contingent upon moving to another location.
My kids were disappointed because they had to leave their friends behind, and my wife had to leave her family behind as well. Most of her family lived in that area and I didn’t like having to do this to her and the children, but I thought it was a wonderful opportunity. At the end of the day, my wife agreed with me and she chose to make this sacrifice. Fortunately, the children made new friends right away and so did my wife. She was able to find work right away and before I knew it, she had all kinds of girlfriends hanging out at the house. I met a lot of good friends too and we suddenly were throwing parties at our place. There were all kinds of perks with my work and that included this corporate housing and all the utilities were included with the rent. The HVAC system was top notch and there were even sensors in all the rooms which would activitate the HVAC system in those areas with this zoned HVAC system. It actually saves us a huge amount of money on the energy bills. There is also a smart thermostat and we have it set with the geofencing so the HVAC knows when to turn off when everybody leaves the house. We are definitely enjoying this new home, but eventually we plan to move back to our home state.
