It’s known as a Scary Home Companion, and involves killers, cannibals, and cults: songs, monsters and mayhem, and even more! I have been doing it for a little while now, and it just remains stagnant and it’s driving me crazy.
I basically focus on putting out the best show possible, with the scariest original stories around, however it’s not especially easy to drum up new listeners! I guess it was naive to actually think that just because I do my best that would be easily enough.
I need to raise my visibility though. Search engine optimization is honestly something that a vast majority of people can do, however not all people can do well. Using search engine optimization is essentially how you get your website or podcast to turn up at the top of search results pages. This is the way you get new people to discover your show… well, this and internet advertising, however that costs a bit of cash. There are all types of social media management companies, seo services, and internet advertising companies available out there, and I guess a fairly good amount of them are fine… But I have no cash, no budget, and so using free platforms similar to social media, and utilizing search engine optimization as best I can is all I can do for this moment. I have attempted using some pay per click ads before, primarily on Facebook and Instagram, with some mixed results. The pay per click raises my visibility on social media pretty well, however that doesn’t entirely translate into listens for my show. I certainly need to consult a professional to get some needed assistance.
