Saving on just about anything has been a top priority over the past year.
- Once the pandemic started, I was relegated to working from home which cut my pay by about 25 percent.
My wife also had to work from the HVAC security of home but at a lesser rate. This led us to try and cut back on just anything that we could. All spending was meant for essentials in order to maintain our lives. Not being able to go to restaurants or enjoy entertainment were also great helps in reducing our costs. But, I ended up costing us a great deal by trying to save money on something I had no business messing with. That would be the HVAC. Like most everything in the house this past year, I have tried to repair or make do in order to get us through the year without added costs. So when the HVAC cooling started acting up, I decided to see if I could repair it. The cool air coming from the vents just wasn’t it’s normal cool. This was causing the HVAC to run far longer in order to meet demand. I figured it was just a recharge situation. So, I bought an HVAC recharge kit and did it myself. Well, I over filled it and ended up messing up the HVAC pretty badly. Not only did I have to pay for all the repairs, I also voided the HVAC warranty unknowingly by not having an HVAC professional repair the air conditioner. It was quite the expensive lesson indeed. And there couldn’t have been a worse time for that to happen.
