I’ve never owned our own house before.
I recently graduated from college and between all our schoolwork and unpaid internships, I didn’t have enough money to buy a condo immediately. Instead, I’ve been residing in a one study room house for the past 2 years, trying to save enough money for a downpayment. My sister is a few years older than myself and others though and she just purchased a home. It’s a good condo in a attractive location and the value of the condo will only go up in the future. I helped transfer her things in and I’ve been going to her condo for bi-weekly lunchs, however during our last lunch, I commented on how hot it felt inside. I asked her if she could adjust the control component settings down a few degrees, however she insisted that it would not do anything. I assumed she was deflecting the conversation, however she continued on to tell myself and others that she’d tried changing the temperature a few times and it didn’t help cool her condo significantly; Even though I never owned a condo before, I knew this wasn’t right. If you adjusted the control unit, the temperature should change. My house wasn’t much smaller than her condo and if I adjusted the temperature by a single degree I could tell a difference. I asked our sister if she was going to get her Heating, Ventilation plus A/C plan tested by a professional, however she hadn’t made an appointment yet; Before leaving her condo that evening, I offered her the cellphone number to a few local Heating, Ventilation plus A/C companies so she could have her Heating, Ventilation plus A/C plan tested before things got worse.
