The people I was with and I always have a holiday celebration at the office at the end of each year.
Well this year certainly didn’t go as planned, for starters, there was something wrong with the Heating and A/C system.
It was harshly freezing in the office at the start of the celebration, however fortunately that problem was solved when both of us called an Heating and A/C rental company. They were able to hook up a temporary heating idea to keep the building nice and warm while both of us tied up for Heating and A/C idea repairs. So it was able to become warm again in the office, however then the woman who was in charge of bringing cake, brought 1 with lit candles on it. I remember thinking this wasn’t a anniversary celebration and that’s when the woman tripped while carrying the cake. The lit candles caught some drapes on fire and the fire suddenly spread around the room. The people I was with and I hit the fire alarm and the fire department was alerted instantaneously. They got there in time to put out the fire, however there was sizable destruction to the building. The people I was with and I ended up being off work for a whole month while repairs were being done. It was determined that the woman with the cake was not at fault and both of us all got paid for the whole month both of us were out, also, it was a wonderful thing that the Heating and A/C component that was rented was not disfigured, even though there was an insurance policy anyway. Basically, the celebration went up in flames and I’m not sure how future holiday parties will go after that. I’m sure they will not permit having lit candles.
