The dirty ductwork ruined it

I made the mistake of doing home renovations with the HVAC system on. If I would have thought about it, I would have turned off my heating and cooling and closed the vent leading to the ductwork. Instead I happily tore down walls, sanded wood and mud with the HVAC running. That meant all the dust I stirred up got sucked up into my ductwork. I spent months gutting and renovating the home for move-in day. I then took one big day and cleaned each room. I dusted the ceiling fan blades, washed the windows, scrubbed the kitchen cabinets and mopped the floors. Then I moved everything into a freshly cleaned home and my HVAC device turned on. Immediately all the dust that was sucked up into it moved throughout my home. Every room got a layer of dust in it. My bed sheets have a film of dust on them. All my wood surfaces look grimey. The floor feels weird and the ceiling fans are just as gross as before. I think before I clean the house again I need to pay for ductwork cleaning. The only way to stop more dust from coming back is to remove it all. I need a HVAC worker to take a giant hose and suck up all the dust. After that I can clean each room in the house and know it will all stay fresh. It is going to take a lot of time and will be frustrating, but I want to have a clean house. I should have cleaned the ductwork first thing.
