Proper hydration during workout

I play music while I exercise.

I’ve figured out the importance of drinking enough water. Sufficient hydration is vital to health, physical fitness and overall well-being. It’s always a problem for me. I am not overly fond of the taste of water. While I was growing up, my family had a water well on our property. Our household water was full of iron and all sorts of minerals. The water was orange colored, smelled like rotten eggs and tasted like metal. Back then, bottled water wasn’t common. My mother never would have willingly spent money for water. Not when we get it for free from the tap. I never got into the habit of drinking lots of water. Now as an adult, I have issues because of bad habits. I workout every single day. Fitness is priority and I get my workout completed first thing in the morning. I work really hard. My typical session includes plenty of high intensity cardio. I always sweat profusely. If I fail to replenish my body with water because I don’t drink enough, I suffer terrible migraines. It’s not uncommon for me to need to lie down because of a bad headache. I’ve experienced fever, chills, nausea and have fainted due to dehydration. I’ve made the effort to carry a full water bottle with me throughout the day. I never remember to sip out of it. I’ve now made a habit of drinking an entire bottle of water while I’m working out. I play music while I exercise. At the conclusion of each song, I make myself drink several sips of water. By the time I’m done with the training session, I make sure I’ve consumed the entire bottle. Even if I fail to take another sip of water for the rest of the day, I know I got a good start.
