My husband won’t keep showing up to couples fitness

My husband and I recently joined a couples fitness class at the nearby gym.

We were both eager and determined to drop some weight and get in better physical condition.

To get ready for the class, I started heading out on walks in the evenings, jogging on the weekends and making time to stretch and improve flexibility. I stopped snacking and eating fast food. I minimized my coffee and alcohol intake. I made a trip to the grocery store and filled our cupboard with a whole bunch of fresh fruits and vegetables. My husband was unwilling to make an effort or change to get ready for the exercise sessions. The first day was way more difficult and strenuous than either of us anticipated. Most of the exercises were completed as partners. We threw a weighted ball back and forth and went through all different exercises that got us breathing hard and drenched in sweat. My husband was required to sit down numerous times, which was rather annoying. He was very reluctant to head back to the gym for the second class. Once again, I’d been making an effort to increase my activity levels to be ready while he relaxed on the couch, drank coffee, ate pizza and whined about his sore muscles. My husband only makes it to three of the couples training sessions. I kept on going alone and the instructor was kind enough to be my partner. I dropped a great deal of weight, gained muscle tone and transformed how I look and feel. I then signed up for a women’s fitness class and paid for a full-time gym membership. I plan to continue to workout and improve my health and fitness. I am so disappointed in my husband.
