Wife get a free gym membership

My wife was given a free membership at a health and wellness center by the insurance company.

  • The company she works for has amazing insurance policies for all of their employees.

The policy includes one free annual physical that was mandatory. She also benefits from membership to the fitness center that is in closest proximity to her place of work. The only problem with this is that my wife commutes nearly an hour from home to work. In order to take advantage of the free membership, she needs to schedule her workouts either prior to the start or following her eight hour workday. An hour workout adds quite a bit of time onto an already long day. I give my wife so much credit. Four days per week, she sets her alarm extra early. She gets up when it’s still dark out and dresses in fitness attire. She then drives nearly an hour to the fitness center and works out. Two of those days, she participates in a strenuous spin class. The other two days, she makes use of the running track, treadmills, stationary bikes and array of equipment. By the end of the workout, she’s drenched with sweat but feeling wide awake and energized. She showers at the fitness center, using their locker room to get dressed and ready for work. She makes the short commute to the office and puts in her eight hour day. By the time she returns home in the evening, she’s so tired she can barely stay awake long enough to eat dinner. Because I work from home, I take care of preparing the meals. I handle my workouts at home as well. I’m not sure which one of us has the better setup. She gets all that state-of-the-art workout equipment for free but has to schedule her life around her workouts. I have a few free weights and a jump rope but I can workout whenever I want.
