Finally have AC in the cabin

The cabin is a fixer upper, but that is part of the family connection to it. My grandpa gave my parents this cabin, telling them it needed a little work. Boy did it ever! My dad ended up working on that place for 20 years, right up until he handed it off to me, and now I work on it every time I go out. It was built by hand — by someone who didn’t really know what they were doing. It has become a Frankenstein patchwork of decades worth of repairs, but in all honesty that is the charm of the place. It has a nice new air conditioner, thanks to me, so all the little repairs that need to be done are more of a luxury than a chore. For years there was no climate control system in the place at all, just fans and air vents for circulation and such. One of the things my dad worked on for a long time was proper seals on the outside, and proper insulation inside, so that it would be worthwhile to actually get the climate control system. Without a good way to trap the cooling inside, there was no point to even trying to air condition the place it is just throwing good money after bad. Dad finished that long, arduous chore before giving the place to me, so the first thing I did was get a central HVAC system. It is not a very big AC unit, or a very powerful heater, but this place is really quite small.
