It’s just so crazy to watch as the economy appears to be imploding once again. The time where I didn’t have to juggle the check book to cover the bills seems like an awfully long time ago. Now, it’s another ball game altogether. And things were entirely starting to improve for us financially after the last taxing recession. Back then, it was a taxing fight to just be able to hang on in order to figure out something better. HVAC wasn’t nearly as high-priced back then as it is now. In our current situation, I am lining up anything I can find in the budget where I could cut back on the costs. The HVAC is entirely in that mix. This year all of us committed to making this season the least high-priced heat season of all. Our household is in an area where the heat is genuinely the prime weather challenge. The cold season is so mild that the utility bill is almost a delight to pay. The summertime is a much, much different story. Once the heat genuinely hits in June, the HVAC device costs skyrocket. Well this year, all of us made the choice that all of us had to change that to save some much needed cash. The biggest thing all of us did was change the way all of us cooled the household. Instead of leaving the HVAC setting in a single spot, I was able to learn how to program the temperature control unit. This way, the household heats up a bit as the temperature rises outside. Then all of us keep the temperature inside around 15 degrees cooler than the highest temps of the peak heating hours. I was overwhelmed with the amount of cash that simple action has saved us.
