Getting divorced leads to a lot of changes in your life.
I went from living in a house that my wife decorated, cleaned and handled.
I also was cooked for, cleaned up after and had my laundry done. After we split I had to buy a place of my own. I ended up choosing a condo and realized quickly I was helpless. I had to learn how to cook some meals, operate a washer and needed to clean from time to time. After I got that down I realized that I had no idea how to make my condo look like a home. I didn’t know themes or styles for homes. I finally decided to call an interior designer. The woman I worked with was really great. At first she showed me lots of elaborate themes like cozy dollhouse, southwest sparkler and Tuscan territorial. When I nixed all those weird themes, she came back at me with contemporary and classic styles. I chose a contemporary condo style which had a lot of modern furniture and basic colors. I picked grey and blue as my colors and the woman went right to town. I got rugs, curtains and pillows in different shades of blue. My walls were painted, I got a brand new couch and all sorts of other furniture. I really like how my finished place looks now. I no longer feel sad having people come over to visit me. My kids don’t think I am struggling anymore. I feel better in the morning getting up to a nice place.
