I just retired from my task of 30 years, and I am having a house custom built to go retire in with my wife.
In the blueprints for this house, I am needing to have it set up to where I can have a heat pump installed for my heating.
I did not want to go with a basic central heating and air conditioning method because a heat pump would be more energy saving overall. Not to mention that a heat pump would also work better for the way I am having my home shaped. It sounds confusing and giving the construction company the unique orders for the heat pump was a bigger job than I expected! They never had anyone need a house customized for a heat pump installation before. The person in charge of my home building never even heard of a heat pump before! He had to go to his manager as well as find out more information on heat pumps and what needed to be done in the home construction to make it friendly for a heat pump installation. After he got all the information he needed, I was told that they could do this with ease. Once the beach house is built, I just have to go buy a heat pump from a heating and air conditioning supplier as well as then call the local heating and cooling company to have them scheduled as well as send out one of their certified heating and air conditioning professionals to install the heat pump.
