I just retired from my job of 45 years. Now I am having a condo custom built to go retire in with my husband. In the blueprints for this house, I am needing to have it set up to where I can have a heat pump installed for my heating. I liked heat pumps much more, since they can save a lot more energy. Not to mention that a heat pump would also work better for the way I am having our condo shaped. It is kind of difficult to explain but giving the construction business the particular orders for the heat pump was a harder job than I expected, and they never had anyone need a condo customized for a heat pump installation before. The person in charge of our condo building never even heard of a heat pump before! He had to go to his manager as well as find out more information on heat pumps and what needed to be done in the condo construction to make it friendly for a heat pump installation. After he got all the information he needed, I was told that they could do this with ease. Once the condo is built, I just have to go buy a heat pump from a heating and a/c business and then call the local HVAC business to have them scheduled and send out one of their certified HVAC technicians to install the heat pump.
