Climate control for my board games

Since the power was out the dedicated HVAC system wasn’t working anyway, so the less valuable games would be okay to play with

Do you like board games? I absolutely love playing board games, and it’s low-key has become an obsession of mine over the last few years. On weekends I will hit up flea markets, garage sales, and swap meets looking for people who have interesting board games to sell or trade. After I got a few dozen of them, I realized that a couple of them were vintage, and could be worth some real money. Me being me, I decided I needed to treat the games as an investment and move toward protecting them accordingly. I got a special storage closet with a dedicated climate control system to keep them at the optimum levels of humidity and temperature. Maybe it sounds silly to get a little HVAC system just for my board games, but you’ve never seen my collection before! Well all of this came to head recently when a massive ice storm trapped me and my friends inside, without power or heating of any kind. We were able to keep warm with a roaring fire in the fireplace, but boredom ended up being a much bigger problem. Under much pressure, I agreed to unlock my climate controlled room and let them pick any of the non-vintage games to play with while we were snowed in. Since the power was out the dedicated HVAC system wasn’t working anyway, so the less valuable games would be okay to play with. It helped to pass the time, but as soon as the power came back on I put all the games back where they belonged, and got the HVAC system working again.
