During the wintertime I always make sure that I am warm and comfortable.
Where I live up in the Northeast the temperatures are very cold during the winter.
We always get heavy snowfall and major snow storms. During the winter time I like to go skiing up to our local ski resort. This gets my mind off of the cold weather since I am keeping warm while skiing. However if I’m standing still I can feel the cold air nip any exposed areas on my body. When I get home after a long day of skiing, I like to sit near my fireplace and stay warm. I don’t run my fireplace a lot because I don’t like to use up all of the wood because it’s a pain to cut. What I do like to use as another heating source during the winter is my furnace. There was this one day when I came back for my ski trip when I turned my thermostat on for my furnace and there was no heat coming out of the vents, only cool air. I called my HVAC technician to see if he knew what was wrong with it. He told me that it certainly could be from leaky air ducts. Leaky air ducts result in inconsistent temperatures in one’s home. Cold air is leaking into the home due to not properly sealed ductwork causing the home to cool down and making the furnace work really hard. He said that he would be over my house that day to check on the air ducts to see if there was any air coming out of them.
