There never really seemed to be the right moment.

I would sit around inside the zone controlled HVAC of my office wondering just why I was so keen to leave it.

Those office were really nice. Along with the customizable commercial HVAC, we were up high so there were awesome views. We had every amenity that I could think of for a productive office space. And the paycheck was very nice. I had worked inside that zone controlled HVAC for almost a dozen year. But that wasn’t the original plan. When I was studying what I do for a living back in college, it was always with an aim to working for myself. The only reason I took a corporate job was to gain experience, sharpen and add to my skillset and get some money together. Well, I had done all that prior to celebrating my tenth year at the company. So why was I still hanging around. I think they call it the golden handcuff situation. The good parts of the job made it tough to take the chance of quitting and going out on my own. So for me, the pandemic ended up being the push I needed to leave that zone controlled HVAC once and for all. When I had to work remotely from the remainder of 2020, that’s all I needed to see that I could indeed go out on my own and start my business from home. Well, I also decided that I needed a ductless heat pump installed inside my home office. That zone controlled HVAC was the thing that I was going to miss most about my old job. And having my own thermostat for the office helped replicate that quality heating and air.
