It’s interesting how being a few years removed from the first and the worst of the pandemic, I see some actual good that came from such a terrible time.
But I sure wouldn’t be here working inside the zone controlled office of this new company without the pandemic.
And my parents wouldn’t have the mortgage insurance that they have now had Covid not been so devastating to so many. There is a definite business truth that applies over just about any business one could think of. The fact is that the first ones who get the pink slips are always the last ones aboard the ship. That’s just what happened to me when we were first sent home to work remotely. But I didn’t even make it a month. I was in the first wave of layoffs when the company decided to keep the offices with that sweet commercial HVAC closed. So that wasn’t so good for paying rent and eating and stuff. My parents immediately offered me my old room. But I wanted to see if I could hustle up some gigs at least. I still had a few months on my lease as well. Yet by the time I had to either sign a new lease or move out, I took my parents up on their offer. The next thing I know, my stuff is in storage and I’m in my old bed. But you know, it was good to be back inside the old central air conditioning of home. Plus, dad and I completely renovated the finished basement like he always wanted to do. We did all the work ourselves except for the heating and cooling. That was up to the HVAC professionals. But wow, I’m so impressed with the HVAC technology in these ductless heat pumps.
