There was something wrong with the smart thermostat

My cousin chose to get a modern smart control appliance which seems to be a little too smart and is overthinking the cooling process entirely. I set it for 67 F last night and when I woke up it was set to 78 F. I assume it learns his patterns and adjusts itself as needed, however the two of us just want the thing to stay at 67 F during the night hours. I need a university degree in smart control appliance controls to figure this thing out as there are about 15 strange screens on it to select from. I was thinking that I had the auto sensing feature turned off however it still changes the setting without me touching it. I assume I need to find the smart control appliance owner’s manual and look through it to figure out what I am doing incorrectly. I guess a pal helped install the appliance here a year ago so I may go ask him if he knows. He works in the Heating and A/C appliance industry and must understand how to program these smart control appliances. I’m still used to the old dial appliances where you just move the lever up or down to change the setting. Those afternoons are certainly gone though and it is time to roll with the fluctuations and learn about these modern smart control appliances. This particular one my cousin has is round with bright orange LED lights on it and looks like something from a sci-fi movie. I am going to take a look online at the Heating and A/C appliance supplier that makes the control appliance and see if they have information on how to actually program it. I’ll figure this out eventually.
