It was already 5AM, so I refused their emergency care
I grew up on a farm. There were multiple Summer nights when I would take a blanket as well as go out into the barn. I would spread the blanket out on the hay as well as lay down. The breeze blowing through the cool barn was enough to cool our boiling body. The gentle sound of the horse always lulled myself and others to sleep. I was dreaming they wrapped myself and others in our blanket as well as I was lying on the hay. I could feel the breeze as it blew across our body. I was shivering from the cool air as well as wondered why I would be sleeping in the barn in the winter. I rolled over as well as looked at the clock. My eyes were actually wide open, as well as I knew I wasn’t in a barn, but in our own lake house as well as in our own bed. The chill was real, but the dream wasn’t. I got up as well as ran to the temperature control to see what the temperature was. Although the temperature control had been set to sixty-eight, it was only forty-multiple in the home office. I checked to make sure the window wasn’t open, even though I knew it wasn’t. The oil furnace wasn’t running. I called the heating as well as A/C company to report our problem. It was already 5AM, so I refused their emergency care. I knew I could wait a couple more hours, so I didn’t need to pay the overtime fee to the heating company as well as the A/C company. I took a boiling shower as well as threw on some moderate clothing as well as sat drinking Starbucks Coffee until the heating as well as A/C tech arrived at 7:30AM to repair our oil furnace. It was the longest two hours of our life.
