When we were kids we always were amused by the most ridiculous things looking back at it now.
Everything from silly games to the doing things like riding dirt bikes.
One thing that I really think was silly and dumb when I look back at it is how me and my brother were amused by the blue flame coming from the gas furnace in the basement of our house growing up! I mean it’s just a gas flame coming out of a furnace for god sake! But still, I guess as 10 and 14 year old kids it makes sense that a colorful flame coming out of a gas furnace would be amusing. I really don’t even like gas furnaces today. Being mature now and knowing more about life and everything about it, I know that gas furnaces can be dangerous in several ways. Everything from carbon monoxide poisoning to houses blowing up. There are so many ways you could die just from having a gas furnace! If I had known this as a kid I can tell you that there would have been no way that me and my brother would have been amused by the blue flame coming from the gas furnace! We probably would have been staying far away from the gas furnace as possible and begged our parents to get rid of it! In those days there was not a whole lot of choice for heating with middle class families, but we could have had a hot water boiler or something like that instead.
