I have been having a heck of a time with my monthly electric bills this past winter.
The electric bills I have had were through the roof! After some investigating, it turned out it was because of my central heating and air conditioning system running the heating all the time.
After reading some very good energy saving tips on some website, I found out that a good solution was to change my thermostat. I found out that by getting a smart thermostat it could cut my electric bills in half. The reason for this, is that a smart thermostat will allow you to not have to run your central heating and air conditioning all the time to achieve the perfect temperatures in your home. This is because it can be turned off and on by you when you leave the house and when you are on your way home. Right there, you are saving tons of energy. I listened to the energy saving tips and got a smart thermostat. And I have already been seeing much better electric bills as a result. When I left the house for work in the morning I would turn off the heating and air conditioning system. Then, the time would come that I was leaving work and at that point I would turn on the heating and air conditioning system as I was on my way home. Then when I walked in the door, the house was perfect temperature as if it had been running all day.
