I work in an outdated factory building that has been around since the 1930s… The building is falling apart everywhere. Half of the plumbing doesn’t work plus the electric box is always having issues. The place is a complete plus total death trap, however the city has not condemned the building just yet. After the roof collapsed, things changed. I wasn’t laboring on the day that the accident occurred, however a couple of my co-workers plus buddies told me about the roofing problem! Everyone was laboring on the front line when they heard a loud sound in the back of the building. They came to the back of the building plus there was rubble plus dust all around. It looked sort of like something landed on top of the building. There was an immense hole in the ceiling plus you could see the trees, the birds, plus the sky. The owner of the factory contacted a commercial roofing supplier plus they found out that there were many parts of the roof that were no longer intact or even up to code. The entire roof had to be substituted. Now the owner of the factory is scurrying around trying to find a commercial roofing supplier that will do the work cheaply. The factory cannot reopen until the roofing work has been finished plus every day that the factory doesn’t run the girl is losing a ton of money. Happily, we do not have to worry about getting paid, we are part of the ironworkers union plus our contract states that we still get paid if the factory is shut down for mechanical issues.
