I have never been one to just pay without really thinking it through. That even goes for a twenty dollar shirt that I see on sale. While I’m genuinely thankful to make a good living and have a nice financial outlook, dumb spending can ruin that situation for sure. At the same time, I need to just get over myself a bit when it comes to spending sometimes. Not every purchase needs research and scrutiny from the a/c of my home office. Sometimes, I need to just let it rip and go with my gut. But my gut, other than being prodigious, isn’t all that spot on really. The smart thermostat situation is a fantastic example. I had this system in my head that the smart thermostat would be obsolete within years of it first coming out. That has not proved to be the situation at all. If anything, the smart thermostat has flourished in the intervening years. So I was just dead wrong about that gut feeling. But, when I’m wrong, I’m wrong and I can live with that. I don’t have a concern with admitting a mistake or miscalculation. That’s just space of life. So, I called the heating and air conditioning corporation and asked them to send out a heating and air conditioning specialist to install a smart thermostat that I had recently obtained. I did my research on this smart thermostat and didn’t even wait for a sale. But I guess I got a great one with a fantastic track record. The upgrade by the heating and air conditioning specialist didn’t take genuinely long at all. He didn’t have to input much more than my most basic heating and cooling parameters. From there, the smart thermostat has simply figured it out.
