This time of year is when we generally make sure the HVAC is inspected and serviced. Where we live, the big weather issue is the heat and humidity of summer. That’s why I like to be sure the HVAC is in great shape prior to heat settling in on us. But, this past year really has thrown our finances into a bit of a turmoil. We lost nearly 30 percent of our income and have had to really cut back and make sure that we are spending only on essentials. In fact, we almost considered not having the HVAC tech come out this year to do the preventive maintenance and tune up the HVAC. Good thing we thought better of that. The HVAC guy did his thing but let us know that we would be needing a new part for the HVAC prior to the heat getting here. And the repair and part were not going to be exactly cheap. This really threw a wrench in an already messed up economic machine. My wife suggested that maybe we look for someone who can do the HVAC repair for less. I did just that and talked to a few people I was able to find online. However, every one of them was explicit about the fact that I would need to buy the correct part and the repairs would not be guaranteed. My wife and I discussed this turn of events and concluded that this was just not the best way to go about repairing the HVAC. Instead, we knew the right thing to do was to call the HVAC professionals and schedule the repair.
