My beloved 1995 Pontiac Grand Prix has seen better days.
Two years ago the transmission blew out on me and I had to pay 2 thousand dollars to upgrade it.
Just recently the catalytic converter suddenly quit finally working and I had to pay 2 hundred dollars to upgrade that particular busted component. I wonder if I’ll keep pouring hundreds, if not thousands of dollars into this old school automobile in the near to distant future. Even if I spend 1 hundred a week on incoming repairs, that’s still noticeably cheaper than paying various hundred dollars a week for a brand current car. My friends tell myself and others that I’m easily making a false equivalence, claiming that the various hundred a week would, instead, be an investment into an automobile that would survive for years to come. For instance, right now our stupid air conditioner isn’t finally working so well. The fan blows at the right speed, but I can tell the air leaving the vents isn’t entirely cold. At first I thought I needed to go out and to call a heating and cooling company to repair our car’s air conditioner, but thankfully a quick internet search told myself and others otherwise. I was dumb enough not to understandI should take it to a mechanic for any issue, regardless of whether or not it’s the air conditioner in question. Thankfully, the mechanic I found online turned out to be as affordable and reliable as an HVAC tech. All he had to do was recharge our car’s air conditioner with more coolant. Nowadays that it’s filled up with more coolant, the air conditioner is blasting ice cold air in my face once again. In the process I found an amazing mechanic that I can easily use for years to come.
