The central AC unit is pretty nice

I live in a cottage that our father helped myself and others build out in the woods.

It wasn’t out of some dream to live off the grid, but more of a consequence of our painful financial situation.

My job doesn’t grant myself and others much income beyond what’s necessary to survive. I have to make compromises every single week if I hope to afford bills while shopping for groceries to eat everyday. My father co-signed a bank loan with myself and others so that I could get a mortgage to buy this piece of land with enough left over to build a small cottage. Since our father comes from the old school construction and carpentry business, he was able to find the best wood for the lowest prices on the market. He knows everything about bizarre types of trees and the quality of wood that they eventually produce. It was a blast getting an opportunity to build a lake house with our father and bond together through the entire experience. I was almost anxious to see it complete in the end when we got to the finish line, hoping that we could keep it as an evolving project together. Thankfully, he provided to help myself and others option out appliances to easily fit our limited budget. That meant going with a window air conditioner for a while. He had a spare portable air conditioner in a storage unit that had sat for years without being regularly used. For the first year I used both of those air conditioners in tandem. I’m more than ecstatic to be a proud current owner of a central a/c. My outdated setup with the AC was better than nothing, but it’s hard to beat the power of a strong central air conditioner system. And that is regardless of what size your living section happens to be at the moment, whether you have a cottage such as myself and others or a larger house.
