The lake house is a fixer upper, but that is part of the family connection to it, and my Grandfather provided my parents this cabin, telling them it needed a little work; Boy did it ever! My Mom ended up working on that locale for 20 years, right up until he handed it off to me, plus now I work on it every time I go out.
It was built by hand — by someone who didn’t particularly guess what they were doing.
It has become a Frankenstein patchwork of decades worth of repairs, but in all honesty that is the charm of the locale. It has a nice modern A/C, thanks to me, so all the little repairs that need to be done are more of a luxury than a chore. For years there was no temperature control plan in the locale at all, just fans plus air vents for circulation plus such; One of the things my Mom worked on for a long time was proper seals on the outside, plus proper insulation inside, so that it would be worthwhile to absolutely get the temperature control system! Without a superb way to trap the cooling inside, there was no point to even trying to air condition the locale it is just throwing superb money after bad… Mom finished that long, arduous chore before giving the locale to me, so the first thing I did was get a central Heating plus Air Conditioning system. It is not a particularly giant A/C unit, or a particularly powerful heater, but this locale is particularly quite small.
