Debating gym membership

I belong to a health and fitness center in my local area.

The facility is located about a twenty minute drive from my house.

It’s not overly convenient and involves quite a bit of time to get in a workout. The fees to belong to the gym aren’t exactly cheap. I often question whether or not it’s worth it. I have considered giving up my membership many times. However, I could never duplicate the experience at home. I’ve looked into the cost of equipment. Even a decent weight bench is rather expensive. Trying to purchase a treadmill, elliptical, rowing machine and stepper isn’t possible. And my gym offers the most modern and advanced versions. Most of the machines include a monitor that allows me to set up personalized programs. I can even participate in a bike race or climb the stairs of a famous building. The programs are super interactive which makes the experience more enjoyable. Plus the gym has a schedule of various fitness classes. At different times of the day, I can take yoga or a spin class. I can participate in pilates or crossfit. They even have a series of classes centered around jump roping. I like having access to a sauna and steam room. I definitely spend more time and get a better workout at the gym than I do at home. Since I want to maintain a healthy weight, keep strong and stay healthy as I grow older, I think the gym is the best way to go about it.
