Too much HVAC in the winter sends me south

I hate to admit the plain truth about my recent move. But, I have to say that the primary mover in that decision was me being so totally done with winter. It’s not like I don’t like a white Christmas or enjoy the occasional ski trip. I just hate everything else that goes with winter. Plus, just keeping the house warm during all those cold months was breaking me. It was breaking my wallet and breaking my spirit. For month after month the HVAC furnace ran and ate up utility costs. The worst part was the fact that I couldn’t even get really warm during the winter. We had to keep the HVAC lower than we wanted just so we could afford the utility bill. That is no way to live. Look, I’d much rather be warmer than I want through a long summer than suffer with being cold in the winter. So, we pulled the trigger and didn’t wait until retirement to do so. The kids have gone off to school and my husband and I are starting our own business. It’s been years in the planning but lately, it made a whole lot more sense to go south to do it. I love living with a mild winter. The HVAC doesn’t even come on everyday during the winter. There are some days we have the windows open in the afternoon. Sure is a far cry from what it once was. The HVAC heat pump is proving to be awesome. I’m not really even all that scared about the high heat of summer.
