I haven’t been on a romantic date since January, but I have plans with a great guy on Friday night.
I’m really excited for our date. We’re going to a jazz bar to have dinner and see the band play. I haven’t been this excited in a long time. I met Brian at the gym. He recently moved to town and joined the same fitness center where I take a spin class. I ran into Brian at the water fountain and we started talking. Brian takes a yoga class at the same time I have spin class, so we’re usually at the gym at the same time. Last week, Brian and I had a fruit smoothie after our group fitness class. We sat and talked for an hour. Brian and I have a lot of things in common. For instance, he is retired military just like me. He also has family up north and he is an only child. Brian and I laughed a lot and our conversation felt easy and natural. After our smoothie date, I gave Brian my phone number. He called me the same night to ask me out for dinner and a movie. We went to the pizza shop and saw a comedy at the cineplex. Brian was a perfect gentleman and opened the car door and bought my drinks and snacks. So far, things are going great. I’m excited for our date on Friday night. I’ve never been to a jazz bar and I think it will be a fun evening. This relationship could turn into something meaningful and long term.
