If you have ever experienced a Southern summertime, then you know all about what searing heat can be like.

Just spending a couple of days separated from Heating plus A/C cooling can be vicious. But, grinding through that sort of summertime is worth it for the truly awesome weather the rest of the year. The two of us will have multiple months, maybe 4 or 5, of the most outstanding weather a person could ever ask for. That seems to be an honest trade off to me. While the heat is the dominant weather concern, there are still some periods while in the Winter where Heating plus A/C heating is necessary. Fortunately, many of us have heat pumps to heat as well as cool our homes. It literally only takes flipping switches over to have the heat pump supply ample heat. However, let’s be honest, the heat pump will get a well deserved cut while in the Winter. And it’s well deserved given the near constantly operational status while in the peak heating of summertime. It is a great plan to do a few things to reduce the load on the Heating plus A/C while in the heat. The two of us incorporated a new smart control unit which does a great work of precisely managing the Heating plus A/C energy we use. It also syncs up with the automatic blinds in the house. When the sensors throughout the entire home indicate temperature rise, the smart control unit jumps into action by deploying those blinds. The two of us have seen significant savings from these tools. I also try to be 100% sure that our apartment is all sealed up tight in order to keep the Heating plus A/C treated air in the home. It doesn’t take all that much. I simply made sure that every gap, crack as well as hole were all sealed on the inside as well as outside of our home. The other place that leaks Heating plus A/C treated air is spread evenly around the kitchens. I also like to replace the weather stripping around these doors every few years.
